KING JESUS COLLEGE RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.         Every student must obey all college authority.

2.         King Jesus College is founded on Christian foundation. Therefore students’ behavior must conform to Christian values, principals and demands:

3.         Late coming at the beginning of the term is discouraged. Any such late comer, without genuine reasons, will be given two days hard labor.

4.         No student will be allowed in class without paying fees unless has permission from the college administration.

5.         No refund of fees to expelled students whatever the reason.

6.         No girl is to be pregnant. Frequent female medical check up will be carried out. Any girl who intentionally dodges any of these will be suspended for one week to come back with the parent and a medical report that she is not pregnant.

7.         All female students must sleep in the college unless they come from their homes every day.

8.         Irregular attendance and poor performance are discouraged:

• For being absent, without sound reason, the victim will receive three strokes of the cane and write an apology to be filed in the disciplinary file.
• Poor academic performance will lead to a student repeating the class or being advised to change school if he/she is also undisciplined.
  
  

9.         Uniform and body treatment:

• Students at college must be in full school uniform properly worn. Improperly worn uniform will be confiscated the whole day. Any student found without uniform will get two strokes of the cane and be sent home until she/he gets the uniform.
• Additional wear like ear rings, hats, caps, necklaces, nose rings, jackets, coats etc are not acceptable: if found worn in the college, these will  be confiscated without return.
• Plating or perming of the hair is strictly prohibited. Any defaulter will have her/ his hair cut off.
• Any student who is found to be using cosmetics to change her/ his complexion will be asked to go home on suspension for two weeks to come back with the parent.
  
  

10.       Language to be used in the college is English. Use of any other language will attract four strokes of the cane or four hours of hard labor. Vulgar language towards teachers or any other people and friends, will attract four strokes of the cane.

11.       Every student must take part in extracurricular activities eg games or clubs. Anyone who does not, will be subjected to a half day’s labor.

12.       No gambling is allowed in the college. Anyone found gambling will be suspended for two weeks to come back with the parent and an apology letter signed by both.

13.       Students will be expected to be within the college from 7:30 am to 5:40 pm unless a written permission has been given by the senior woman for girls or the teacher on duty.

Any student who is found absent within these hours will be given three strokes of the cane and an apology letter written.

14.       All examinations: beginning of term, midterm, end of term and any other that may be set together with  all class work given are compulsory for all students and are considered for promotion to other classes. Anyone who dodges any of these will be given four strokes of the cane and/ or be sent home for two weeks to come back with the parent and an apology letter signed by both student and parent.

15        Any act of vandalism and destruction of college property will lead to replacement of the property accompanied by an apology letter.

16.       Bullying and teasing of new or weaker students are prohibited. Any student engaged in doing so will be given six strokes of the cane and/ or suspended for two weeks.

17.       Any student who instigates chaos, a strike or violence of any kind in the college will behanded over to the Police and be expelled from the college immediately.

18.       Visitors who come to see students, should seek permission from the college administration.

But only during the following hours visitors will be allowed:-

10.40 - 11.00 am

01.00 - 02.00 pm

05.20 - 05.40 pm

Anyone found with visitors outside these times and with no permission will get two strokes of the cane in the presence of the visitors.

19.       Staff quarters are out of bounds to all students of the college. Any trespassers will receive four strokes of the cane.

20.       College fees must be paid only to the college cashier. Any fees payment to any other person is to the payer’s own risk.

21.       Whoever will be found breaking or to have broken the college fence will be suspended to return with a complete roll of barbed wire.

Note:

• Student’s leaders are subject to the same rules and regulations. Any student leader who defies these rules and regulations will similarly be punished and demoted. However, any student who disobeys student leaders will be doing so to the college administration and hence subjected to heavy punishment.
• Hard labor includes: Digging, slashing, cleaning toilets, helping builders, etc.
• All students who join King Jesus College must be ready to adhere to all the above rules and regulations.
